Review by Allison M. If you are a classic-car lover, then I have one of the best-kept secrets to share with you! Nestled in a quiet industrial area surrounding John Wayne Airport, you will find the Crevier Classic Car Company. Touting itself as “Orange County’s premier classic and exotic vehicle sales, storage and event venue,” this hidden gem for car buffs is rapidly becoming the go-to place for both car enthusiasts and people looking to hold a unique kind of event. The name Crevier should sound familiar to you, as it is part of the Crevier family (think Crevier BMW….one of the most awarded BMW dealerships in the country). Providing Orange County with top-notch customer service since 1971, this family does not limit itself to merely selling cars. In addition to being a successful business-man, Don Crevier is one of the most giving individuals, sitting on over 30 different philanthropic boards, and donating countless hours, volunteers, and money to the surrounding Santa Ana School District. As an educator myself, it is nice to hear about people giving back to the local communities (especially considering the horrific state education is in at this moment in time). In 2006, Don Crevier approached James “Jim” Clark about opening up a car storage facility for classic and exotic cars. Though Jim lived in Wyoming at the time, he was intrigued, and returned to Southern California to help oversee the development and execution of this branch of the Crevier brand. The doors opened in February 2007; neither Don Crevier or Jim Clark could foresee the goldmine they were sitting on. For the first year, the facility served its intended purpose: to store cars/toys for people in Orange County and surrounding areas who had no where else to house their precious cargo. As time wore on however, and the facility was painted and decked out, people started to see its potential as to what it has morphed into: a classic car museum and unique event facility. In February 2007, Rep. John Campbell of Irvine asked to host a “campaign-donor appreciation night” (Campbell himself stored a car at this location). Since then, this location has held many events, including weddings, corporate events and meetings, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, philanthropic fundraisers, and even fashion shows (they are in the process of planning a fashion show fundraising event with Panned Parenthood in May). The location is beautiful; there is a plush sitting area, flat screen TVs, a bar, pool tables, and of course, the cars! For someone looking for a different type of event, this is definitely the place to go. In addition to storing cars and holding events, the staff also SELLS exotic cars. What better place to go purchase a classic car than a facility specifically created for their storage? The staff will make sure you get the car you are looking for at a fair price. With over 60 cars on their inventory list, this would be a great first stop in the search for that individual searching for their dream car. What stands out the most, however, is the attention to customer service. I visited the location, and was greeted by several different employees. When I sat down and spoke with Jim Clark, I felt right at home (even though I am not a huge classic car fan. To me, cars are pretty, but merely get me from point A to point B). He was friendly and welcoming, and not once did I feel intimidated or overwhelmed with a topic that I am not too familiar with. In fact, we spoke for over an hour, and the conversation was seamless and enjoyable. I felt a sense of trust, and I know that he will do what he can to assist you in meeting your specialized car needs. In the short span of three years, this car storage facility has transformed into a one-stop shop for admiring or purchasing classic/exotic cars and for housing distinctive events. With the combination of customer service, location, and the willingness to assist others in the community, this is a place where you can go to learn and be entertained while knowing that the efforts of the Crevier family reaches out and assists those less fortunate within the community. Check out the website for a virtual tour, car inventory, and contact information for the staff. If you love cars, you will not be disappointed. www.crevierclassiccars.com |
